Location. The 19th century Hotel du Louvre is located in Paris, France, opposite the Louvre and 1 block from the Tuileries Gardens. The hotel is 800 metres from the Musee dOrsay, while the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre are both two and a half kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Built on the orders of Napoleon III for the International Exhibition of 1855, the grand Hotel du Louvre has restored its facade and filled the interior with colour and contemporary design. The marble floored lobby is decorated in crimson and greens, with a contemporary chandelier, velvet tapestry and suspended vases above reception.

At the Hotel du Louvre, a buffet breakfast is served daily (surcharge). For lunch and dinner, the Brasserie du Louvre serves fresh seafood and classic French dishes. In summer, guests can dine on the terrace, with views of the Palais Royal and Louvre. Le Defender Bar offers cocktails and snacks amid black marble columns and velvet chairs. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

The Hotel du Louvres small 24 hour business centre has a computer workstation, with high speed Internet access (surcharge) and printer. Fax and secretarial services are available. There are eight air conditioned meeting rooms for hire and a grand reception hall.

Expert Tip. The 17th century arcades of the Palais Royal Gardens, opposite the hotel, are a shoppers paradise, even for Paris. Tiny shops sell everything from antique toy soldiers to vintage couture. There is even a boutique dedicated to the little black dress.

Driving Directions:
From Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG):
Distance to Hotel du Louvre is 30 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes drive.

Getting there. RER line B trains run from the airport to central Paris. Line B3 (Roissyrail) departs from Terminal 2 and runs to Denfert Rochereau, St Michel, Chatelet les Halles and Gare du Nord. Single tickets cost 7.85 EUR and journey time is about 25 minutes. Roissybus shuttles run from all three terminals to Place de lOpera. Buses depart every 15 minutes, and single tickets cost about 8 EUR. Air France shuttles stop at the Arc de Triomphe. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is on Place Andre Malraux, opposite the Louvre. Paris is easy to explore on foot, and there is a reliable, cheap metro (underground), which runs throughout the city and the suburbs. Buses are a great way to see the citys sights. Tickets can be purchased from bus drivers or from the machines in metro stations. Regional RER trains run to destinations in the surrounding area. Taxis are available in the streets, but can be hard to find at busy times. Advance booking is recommended.

Driving directions. From Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport:
Take the A1 motorway to Porte de la Chapelle.
Then take the outer ring road to Porte de Saint Ouen.
Once you have left the ring road, follow Avenue Saint Ouen and get onto Rue Amsterdam.
Go past St Lazare Station and take Rue de Havre then Rue Tronchet as far as Place de la Madeleine.
Go straight ahead on Rue Royale, then take the second street on the left, Rue St Honore, leading to Place Andre Malraux.
