From Heraklion Airport (HER):
Distance to Galaxy Hotel is 5 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes drive.

Getting there. Buses and taxis wait in front of the airport terminal building. Buses 1 and 78 run to Heraklion city centre, stopping by the Archaeological Museum. Journey time is about 20 minutes, and the fare for a single ticket is under 1 EUR. Taxi fares to the city centre should be about 8 EUR, and the fare should be negotiated prior to travelling. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Crete is best explored by car. Buses are inexpensive and depart frequently for destinations throughout the island. Cretes bus company KTEL connects to the larger cities and more remote areas. Many of the villages can be accessed by boat taxis and small ferries. Taxis wait at ranks around Heraklion city centre. Fares are reasonable but travellers should ensure the meter is used.
