Location. The Radisson SAS Hotel Altstadt Salzburg is located in Salzburg, Austria, within 500 metres of Mozarts birthplace and Fortress Hohen Salzburg. Salzburg Airport is located five kilometres away and the Hauptbahnhof is within two kilometres.
Hotel Features. Hotel Altstadt is set in a historic building dating from 1377 and built in a traditional Austrian style. The front desk is open around the clock to organise airport transport (surcharge), while a porter is available at the front of the hotel to assist guests with luggage. There is also a concierge desk which opens to assist guests with arranging tours, purchase theatre or concert tickets or arrange a babysitter.

Restaurant Symphonie opens Monday to Saturday and serves breakfast (complimentary buffet), lunch and dinner. An Italian styled patio opens amid a courtyard and serves Mediterranean dishes in the summer. A bar opens from 4 p.m. until midnight daily and serves cocktails and light snacks. Room service is available around the clock.

There are three conference rooms which can hold up to 50 people at the hotel. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas for a surcharge.

Guestrooms. The hotel has 62 air conditioned guestrooms, which are all accessible by an elevator. Each guestroom at Hotel Altstadt is individually styled with unique furnishings and decor and offers a view of the Salzach River and the Kapuziner Monastery, the historical old town or the fortress. Guestrooms feature a marble bath with golden fittings. Amenities include satellite television, desks, minibars and refrigerators.

Expert Tip. Take the Sound of Music tour from Mirabellplatz bus terminal, two kilometres away. The tour takes visitors to landmarks such as the Nonnberg Convent, the Residenzplatz, the Mirabell Palace Gardens and the Mozartplatz, a central square featuring a statue of the compose Mozart.

Driving Directions:
From Salzburg Airport (SZG):
Distance to Radisson Sas Hotel Altstadt Salzburg is five kilometres, approximately 10 minutes drive.

Getting there. The number 2 bus runs between the airport and Salzburgs main train station (Hauptbahnhof) every 10 minutes. Single tickets cost 1.80 EUR. There are buses to Bavaria and Tyrol. Taxis to Hotel Altstadt cost 20 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Salzburgs city centre is best explored on foot. The city is served by an inexpensive tram and bus system, and there are numerous cycle paths. Driving is not advised for visitors, and cars are not allowed in some areas of the Old Town.

Driving directions. From Salzburg Airport.
Turn right to the Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse B1 and follow the road for 884 metres.
Cross the entrance to Salzburg city and follow the road B1 for another 1 kilometre.
Turn right onto the Maxglaner Hauptstrasse and follow for 1 kilometre.
Go straight through the Neutorstrasse for 900 metres.
After passing the Sigmundstor, follow the route crossing Herbert von Karajan Platz.
Go on to the Munzgasse and turn right into the Griesgasse.
Follow the Griesgasse for 350 metres.
Go straight on to the Rudolfskai for 50 metres, which will lead to Salzach entrance of the hotel.
