Location. The unique Hotel Pulitzer, made up of 25 converted canal houses, is 500 metres from Dam Square in the centre of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Famous attractions like Anne Frank House and Kalverstraat shopping street are 500 metres away, as is Centraal Station.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Pulitzer consists of 25 traditional 17th and 18th century houses overlooking the Prinsengracht canal. A warren of corridors and courtyards uncovers many original features, with baroque plasterwork, marble staircases and wooden beams throughout. The lobby is filled with leather armchairs, plump sofas and flower arrangements.

The Hotel Pulitzers restaurant, originally an apothecary, offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in a contemporary setting featuring a nine metre modern version of The Last Supper. The Bar at Hotel Pulitzer is made up of three intimate lounges, with midnight blue decor and low grey armchairs. It enjoys views out over the Keizergracht canal. The Rendez Vous serves drinks and light meals in the lobby lounge or the courtyard.

The hotel has 10 conference rooms, including the Art Deco style Garden Town House, set in the courtyard and accommodating up to 160 people. There is a business centre and wireless Internet access in public areas. Valet parking is available.

The hotel offers complimentary access to the well equipped gym, with free weights and cardiovascular machines. There is an onsite gallery showcasing local contemporary art. Bicycle rental is available.

Guestrooms. Individually decorated with cherrywood furniture and modern artwork, the 230 guestrooms feature exposed beams and timber flooring. Rooms offer satellite television and minibars, and have canal, courtyard or garden views. Marble bathrooms are decorated with hand painted Dutch tiles.

Expert Tip. The hotels own motor launch was built in 1909 and is a fantastic way to see the city. Sightseeing trips leave three times a day from its mooring in front of the hotel.

Getting there. A railway station is located under Schiphol Plaza, in the central hall of the terminal. Every 15 minutes a direct train runs to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Shared Schiphol Travel taxis can be found outside the arrivals hall. The cars can seat up to eight people and cost around 19 EUR per person. Private taxis into Amsterdam city centre cost approximately 40 EUR. Public buses frequently run to Amsterdam and other destinations. Buses 197 and 370 go to central Amsterdam and Amsterdam Zuid. Getting around. The Hotel Pulitzer overlooks the Prinsengracht Canal in the centre of Amsterdam, 500 metres from Dam Square. Amsterdam can easily be explored by foot. However, there are convenient bus, tram and metro services running through the city and outside areas and Centraal Station is 500 metres from the hotel. Cycling is also a popular way to see Amsterdam. There are taxi ranks at Centraal Station. There is valet parking on site but driving within the canal ring is discouraged.
