Location. The Generator Hostel London is located in the centre of London, England, 700 metres from Kings Cross station and 1.5 kilometres from the nightlife of Soho.
Hotel Features. This six storey hostel, decorated in bright colours, is aimed at backpackers and young travellers. There are 24 hour laundry facilities, an Internet room with high speed Internet access, and a travel shop for booking tours and trips. Multilingual staff are available at the 24 hour front desk. A complimentary continental breakfast is provided daily. The Fuel Stop Restaurant serves dinner, including burgers, pizzas, salads and vegetarian dishes, at budget prices in a brightly decorated room. The Generator Bar is open until 2 a.m. nightly and has a happy hour from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly. The bar hosts regular entertainment, such as quiz, pool and karaoke nights.

Guestrooms. The 214 guestrooms and dormitories have simple decor and basic furnishings. Large or small dormitories are available, and private rooms for two, three or four; all rooms have bunk beds. Rooms have wash basins and individual lockers. Male and female showers and toilets are found on every floor.

Distance to Generator Hostel London is 12 miles, approximately 25 minutes drive.

Getting there. Located within the airport terminal is the Docklands Light Railway station (DLR), which departs regularly for Canning Town, 10 minutes, Canary Wharf, 14 minutes, and Bank, 22 minutes. At Canning Town, visitors should take the Jubilee line to connect to London Underground (Tube) services. Kings Cross Underground Station is 700 metres from the hostel. Tickets cost 4 GBP for a single, but a one day travel pass is more economical and practical for multiple journeys. The airport is also served by local buses and London black taxis. Taxis to the hostel cost approximately 30 to 50 GBP. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The London Underground (Tube) and buses are the easiest ways to travel within London. Single tickets are expensive, but an electronic Oyster card offers a cheaper fare. Oyster cards can be purchased from ticket offices for 3 GBP (refundable). Daily or weekly travel passes are the most economical way to travel, and are valid on buses, trams, trains, and DLR, as well as on the Underground. Black taxis are available on the streets, but can be expensive. Driving is not recommended for visitors and a congestion charge zone is operated in central London.
